Twilight Wish Foundation to Partner with Worcester Commission on Aging

Worcester, Maryland – National nonprofit Twilight Wish Foundation, headquartered in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce a partnership between the Worcester County, Maryland chapter and the Worcester Commission on Aging. This partnership will be aimed at making a positive impact on the lives of low-income seniors age 65 and older throughout Worcester County. Together they will be making a difference in the lives of seniors in need by granting their wishes for items that improve the quality of life and allow them to maintain their independence.

Twilight Wish Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that grants wishes to seniors who are over 65 years old and have an income of less than 200% of poverty level annually, or who are permanent residents of a nursing facility. The mission of Twilight Wish Foundation is to honor and enrich the lives of seniors through intergenerational wish granting celebrations. Since being founded in 2003, Twilight Wish has granted nearly 6,000 wishes to seniors in need.

Do you know a senior who is 65 years or older and is in a low-income bracket who could be a candidate for a wish? Twilight Wish grants several diverse types of wishes: Simple Needs Wishes – Examples include clothing, lift chairs, hearing aids and appliances. Celebrating a Life Wishes – These are meaningful and nostalgic wishes granted for hospice patients or recipients with limited life expectancies. These wishes can be for family reunions, visits to hometowns, chances to return to a job or career one more time and any similar wish that validates and brings joy to the recipient. Living Life to the Fullest Wishes – Examples include riding on a motorcycle, having a book published, flying in a fighter jet, meeting a celebrity, or going to a baseball game. Veterans Wishes – One-third of all wishes granted are for veterans. Veterans’ wishes can fall into any of the other three programs, but we differentiate this program as it gives us an opportunity to thank veterans, many in nursing homes, for what they have done for others over the years and show that we remember and care.
